About the Journal

UMRAN - Journal of Islamic and Civilizational Studies (EISSN 2289-8204) is an online refereed journal published by UTM Press and managed by Islamic Civilization Academy, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

UMRAN firstly published online articles in 2014 with a frequency of three (3) issues per year (March, July and November). It serves as a platform for academics, practitioners, and researchers to publish research findings and disseminate knowledge related to Islamic and Civilizational Studies. This Journal aims to foster academic excellence in the subject area.

 

SCOPE OF PUBLICATION

UMRAN aims to serve as a platform to academics, practitioners, and researchers to publish research findings and disseminate knowledge related to Islamic and Civilisational Studies. 

It accepts manuscripts and research papers about Islamic History, Islamic Culture and Civilization, Philosophy and Islamic Thought, Sufism and Theology, Islamic Politics and Political Economy, Islamic Economics and Finance, Islamic Management, Islamic Law and Jurisprudence, Islamic Arts, Fiqh Science and Technology, Halal Science as well as Islamic Education.

It also publishes multidisciplinary research papers; however, the focus and issues discussed must be related to Islam and Muslim society regardless of the geographical difference.

MESSAGE FROM EDITOR IN-CHIEF

We invite all respected researchers, academics and practitioners to submit their research papers and manuscripts to our Journal The manuscripts submitted are acceptable in both Malay and English based on research findings and intellectual discourses or book reviews. For Malay articles, authors are responsible for providing the Title and Abstract in the English Language. 

Priority is given to articles deliberating the scope of the Journal and contribute to the development and advancement of a civilised society. The manuscripts submitted must be original, and not have been previously published or under consideration in other publications.

The view expressed in the articles does not necessarily represent the view of the editors. 

It is the Board of Editor's aim to elevate this Journal as an innovative platform for knowledge dissemination and community advancement.
