Abstract

Fiqh al-Mizan is a concept introduced by Ali al-Qarah Daghi to develop a balanced understanding between religious obligations and community life, including matters involving medicine and health. In the context of contemporary medicine, issues related to public health management involving individual rights and community interests, vaccination programs, and pandemic control measures affecting religious activities often become topics of discussion among various parties, those who support and those who oppose. Problems arise when these opposing groups influence others and directly cause negative effects on public health. This article aims to present the concept of Fiqh al-Mizan as a solution to balance these issues and discuss related matters through an equitable scale of judgment. This study employs qualitative methodology by analyzing the concept of Fiqh al-Mizan, contemporary medical fatwas, and case studies involving health issues such as COVID-19. The findings show that Fiqh al-Mizan can provide a balanced and clear understanding guided by Shariah to resolve these conflicts. This study is expected to provide benefits and guidance to the community, religious scholars, and policymakers in dealing with issues related to contemporary medicine. The concept of Fiqh al-Mizan can be expanded its application, and further research should be conducted to reduce conflicts within the community.
